As part of its outreach efforts, the SSC helps poor, needy families, identified through Social Services, by providing weekly vouchers that can be used to purchase Shabbat meals.<\/p>\n<p>The SSC provides approximately\u00a0250 indigent families with $50 weekly vouchers\u00a0so that these needy families can have a celebrate Shabbat.\u00a0In addition, the Jerusalem Shabbat Fund presents its families with financial stipends for Jewish holidays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Families in Israel on public assistance do not receive enough money for extras such as Shabbat and holiday celebrations.
