Israeli born, Rabbi Itzhak Havi speaks Hebrew, English and Italian, fluently, as well as good Spanish and Portuguese. Warm and outgoing, Itzhak has had many opportunities to work with children and adults of all ages, and has been successful at the many aspects this includes. He is a skilled cantor, bar mitzvah teacher, Torah reader, Shofar blower and Shochet.
Working as shaliach for the Belmonte Jewish Community in Portugal in 2005-2006, he organized Shabbat and Holidays services, taught classes on Judaism and organized activities for different age groups, was the hazzan during holiday services, taught Hebrew classes, and was the shechita and kashrut advisor to the community.
From 2003-2004, Rabbi Itzhak Havi was shaliach for the Milan Greater Community in Italy. As the community’s assistant rabbi, he prepared boys for their bar mitzvah, formed a kollel, was the Kashrut advisor, and taught classes on Judaism for different age groups.
Rabbi Havi attended Straus-Amiel Institute, Ohr Torah Stone, Ner Le’Elef in 2006-2007. The school provides advanced training for rabbis, educators, and spiritual leaders for the Diaspora. His studies included interpersonal communication, mediation, rhetoric, work with addicted youth, and outreach. He also took advanced Torah Studies and Hazzanut classes at the Shehebar Sephardic Center in Jerusalem.
